John Kerman Peoples was born on April 25, 1930, in Yadkinville, the son of the late John Henry and Annie Wells Peoples. From humble beginnings, he built a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and steadfast faith.
On July 25, 1956, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dorothy Reynolds. Together they shared 54 years of marriage, creating a home filled with commitment, strength, and enduring love.
Mr. Peoples was the proud owner and operator of Peoples Trucking, a business he led with integrity and dedication. He attended Maggie Jones United Methodist Church and lived his faith through quiet service and loyalty to his community. He also served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and patriotism.
Mr. Peoples departed this life on October 8, 2010, in Jackson, at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 13 days.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Dorothy (Reynolds) Peoples of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; his son, Vic Peoples and wife Sharon of Saint John, Indiana; two grandsons, John Peoples and Brandon Peoples, both of Saint John, Indiana; and one brother, Lester Peoples of Robbinsville, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kerman Peoples, and three brothers, Carl Peoples, Buford Peoples, and Clarence Peoples.
Mr. Peoples will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his devotion to his family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His legacy of love and perseverance will continue through the generations he leaves behind.
