John Lewis Raiteri

John Lewis Raiteri was born October 20, 1946 in Memphis, TN the son of the late Frank and Virginia Johnson Raiteri.

He was united in marriage to Brenda A. Morris in 1963. Brenda preceded him in death on August 23, 2013, following 49 years of marriage.

John worked as a welder for American Fabrication in Memphis, TN for approximately 30 years. Fishing, enjoying a good meal with family and friends, and drinking coffee in his recliner while watching wrestling were some of his favorite activities. He was a tough man who faced every challenge head-on and never quit. 

John departed this life on October 5, 2024 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 11 Months, 15 Days. He is survived by a daughter, Carol Bishop and husband Charles of Bethel Springs, TN; a son, Mike Raiteri of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren: Troy Raiteri, Chad Bishop and wife Brianna, Jennifer Bishop, Ashley Raiteri, Jay Raiteri, and Richard Raiteri; five great-grandchildren: Dallas Bishop, Nathan Bishop, Carson Bishop, Jayleigh Raiteri, and Thomas Raiteri; two sisters, Josie Bonner of Memphis, TN and Elizabeth Robertson of Walls, MS; a special friend, Vernon Noble; his faithful canine companion, Fluffy; and many extended family and friends. 

In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and David Raiteri.
