John Henry Reed

John Henry Reed was born on May 26, 1934 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late Price Andrew and Altie Kiddy Reed.

On December 4, 2009, he was united in marriage to Linda Harville, who survives.

John retired from the logging business. Before he retired, he helped Rex Lineberry baling and hauling hay. When he was active, John spent time at the Adamsville/McNairy County Senior Center where he loved to play dominoes. He loved to dance, especially buck dancing, and listening to The Wayne Jerrolds Band. John and Wayne go way back.

John Henry Reed departed this life on November 22, 2025 in Adamsville, Tennessee, at the age of 91 years, 5 months, and 27 days.

He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Reed of Savannah, Tennessee; son, Ricky Reed, Sr. of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Deborah Reed Mancell of Savannah, Tennessee; stepdaughters, Vicki Hunt of Savannah, Tennessee and Pamela Carroll of Adamsville, Tennessee; stepson, Larry (Troy) Pickens of Michie, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his son, Chuck Reed; sisters, Maysel Baker and Artie Mae Hubbard; brothers, R.D. Reed and Albert Reed; and grandson, Floyd Mancell.
