JOHN W. RUSH

John W. Rush 74, of Henderson passed away October 26, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. A memorial service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Rush was born on May 28, 1942 in the Silerton Community of Chester County to J.L. Rush and Alma Kate “Katie” Johnson Rush who preceded him in death. After graduating from Chester County High School in 1960 he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1961 until 1964 before returning to Silerton where he lived the rest of his life. He was a self-employed carpenter.

Mr. Rush is survived by Nella Pipkin Rush, his wife of fifty-one years, a daughter, Rhonda (Mike) Woodham, a son, Mark (Becky) Harbin, a sister Francis Rush Stack, two brothers, Bill Rush and Joe Rush, four grandchildren, Amy (Nick) Harbin Busby, Brandi (John) Harbin Beshires, Katelyn (Anthony) Woodham Ashton, Ryan Woodham, and five great grandchildren.

The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made in Mr. Rush’s memory to the Kirkland Cancer Center in Jackson, Tennessee.
