John Henry Sims

February 7, 1926 — September 19, 2019

John Henry Sims of Guys, TN departed this life on September 19, 2019 in Selmer, TN at the age of 93 Years, 7 Months, 12 Days. He was born on February 7, 1926 in Water Valley, MS the son of the late Homer and Lula Jones Sims. He was united in marriage to Mary D. Nichols who preceded him in death on July 25, 2012.

Mr. Sims was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church and a World War II Navy Veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Ellen Horton of Guys, TN, Pat Davis and husband Larry of Bethel Springs, TN; two grandchildren, Stacy Horton and wife Laura, Brian Hendrix and wife Tracy; five great grandchildren, Easton Horton, Allison Allen and husband Hunter, Chalie Horton, Lyndsey Young, Annalyn Hendrix; a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents and all of his siblings, Mr. Sims was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Arthur Horton.
