Johnnie Hulin Barnes

Johnnie Hulin Barnes departed this life on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 23 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 31, 1944, the daughter of the late John Franklin and Willie Lois Godwin Hulin. On June 28, 1970, she was united in marriage to Robert Glenn Barnes, Jr., who preceded her in death on April 14, 2009.
Johnnie was a member of the Savannah Church of Christ and attended Pickwick Church of Christ. She loved to travel with her husband and her grandchildren. For ten years, she worked in the library at Jackson State Community College as a Library Aide.
Johnnie is survived by her children, Nicole Barnes Skelton of Seward, Alaska, and Bart Barnes and his wife Kristy of Counce, Tennessee; grandchildren, Hayse Barnes, Jack Barnes, Seth Skelton, Page Hall, and Graham Weaver; great grandchildren, Jonsey Hall and Jude Hall.
In addition to her parents and husband, Johnnie was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Thomas and Nancy Callens.
The family requests memorial donations be made to an organization supporting either lymphoma or leukemia research.
