J. C. COPELAND

Henderson, TN: Johnny Clinton Copeland age 85 passed away July 29, 2025, peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born January 1, 1940, in Manila, AR the son of the late Paul Eugene Copeland and the late Elsie Turner Copeland Patterson.

He was raised in Chester County and attended Chester County Schools. He graduated in 1958 from Chester County High School.

J.C. Married Brenda Copeland, Feb. 1990.

He was very well known and respected in the construction industry in Jackson and surrounding areas.

J.C. Was a co-owner of C & C Mechanical Contractors for thirty years.

He was owner of Copeland Construction doing residential construction over twenty-five years. During his many years in the business there were few people who didn’t work with of for J.C. at some point.

He was a Charter Member of Grace Baptist Church in Pinson, TN.

In recent years, JC and Brenda found joy in the simple things—spending quiet moments together watching the birds flutter around their many feeders and birdbaths, and cozying up with Hallmark movies that made them smile.

J. C. was an avid golfer and Charter Member of Woodland Hills Golf and Country Club. In later years he enjoyed many afternoons playing Dominos with his buddies at Sadie Lou’s.

J. C. is survived by his wife Brenda Sue Jackson Copeland of Henderson; two sons Jeff Copeland (Melanie) of Hoover, AL and Jason Copeland (Laura) of Jackson; a stepson, Scott Laster (Melissa) of Henderson and a stepdaughter, Sheri Pruitt (George) of Henderson; seven grandchildren, Shanna Alexander (Joey), Josh Laster (Jessica), Chala Branyan (Kendal), Jacob Laster (Baileigh), Kaleigh Pruitt, Cameron Copeland, and Reece Copeland; six great grandchildren, Gunner Branyan, Annalise Laster, Adelinne Laster, Coen Laster, Axel Campbell and Colt Campbell; one brother, Wayne Copeland of Scottsboro, AL and two sisters, Peggy Cearley of Henderson and Donna Weston (Jeff) of Winter Haven, Fl.

Memorial Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 31st at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Eric Martin and Jeff Copeland officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations or gifts the family kindly requests donations be made to Grace Baptist Church building fund.
