Johnny Howell beloved husband, father and "Paw" passed away January 16, 2026 at the age of 72. Born on May 31, 1953 the son of the late Alfred and Louise Sisco Howell of Middleton, TN.

He was united in marriage to Brenda Garrett on July 23, 1971, they were seldom ever apart. One of his favorite things to do was get up early on a Saturday morning and together they would travel all over West TN looking for yard sales. He also enjoyed buying return pallets and he along with his son woudl take them to auctions or flea markets on the weekends. He loved cars, especially antique cars. He taught himself at an early age to work on cars and it became a hobby he continued throughout his life.

He also enjoyed hunting trips with his son-in-law. He could often be heard telling stories of the Texas hunting trips they took with friends. He was a lover of food but nothing could compare to his wife's home cooking or her meatloaf.

He worked at Hyman's Tire Service in Bolivar, TN in his young adult years and later at Dover Elevators in Middleton, TN for well over 30 years. After retirement, he and his wife briefly owned Three Way Grocery but had to sell due to declining health.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; son, John "Robert" Howell; daughter, Shelia Rixie and husband Tim; granddaughter, Ashleigh Howell; grandson, Braden Rixie all of Bolivar, TN; his dogs, Jax and Callie; brother, David Howell and wife Martha of Middleton, TN; sister, Dorothy Stewart and husband Mike of Selmer, TN; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Aside from his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Wayne Howell; sisters, Mary Ola Harris, Mary Frances Thornton, Linda Gardener and Brenda Cates; very special companion his dog, Max.

At Johnny's request there will be no public funeral service or visitation. We ask that you honor his name in donations to the American Cancer Society or the March of Dimes.
