Mr. Bobbitt departed this life on Sunday morning, May 15, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Bolivar on Saturday, October 25, 1958, to the late Gene Bobbitt and Mary Ann Moss Bobbitt. He attended school in Fayette County prior to moving back to Bolivar in the early 1970s and was reared by his grandparents, John and Hester Moss. Married to his wife, Elizabeth, on Saturday, June 15, 1985, they had been married almost 37 years at the time of his passing.
Mr. Bobbitt worked over 20 years for Harmon Automotive in Bolivar and over 15 years for DeVilbiss in Jackson. He loved his Lord and family and enjoyed anything having to do with farming. In early years, he loved helping his grandparents around their home especially when it came to cutting wood. Johnny was a great father to his daughter, Jessica and will be missed by his "grand-dog", Bella.
He leaves his wife, Elizabeth Bobbitt of Bolivar; his daughter, Jessica Bobbitt of Jackson; his aunt and "second mother", Helen Kee of Bolivar; and several nieces, nephews and cousins including Joshua Tice and Crystal Bobbitt; sister-in-law, Maria George (Gary); and two brother-in-laws, Kenny Glueck (Judy) and Terry Tice.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Regina Bobbitt Tice; and a brother, Bubba Bobbitt.
