Johnny Ray Maness,
Finger, TN: Johnny Ray Maness, age 72, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022, at his home at Finger.
He was born in Chester County, September 25, 1950, the son of the late Jess Willard and Eula Virginia Crouse Maness. He grew up in the Finger area and attended schools at Hickory Corner and Old Friendship. He entered the US Army in 1970 and served four years, two of those active service, stationed in Germany.
He married Nancy Baker in 1974 and they had two children, Shane and Brandy. He later married Robin Hurst in 1991 and they also had two children, Josh and Jordan.
He worked at Oakley Fashions in Jackson; Grinnell in Henderson; and Quality Stamping in Henderson, where he retired as a press operator in 2018
He enjoyed hunting , working outside, collecting antiques and old cars. He was also a NASCAR fan.
He is survived by a daughter Jordan Sanders (Asa) of Henderson, two sons Johnny Shane Maness (Jamie) of Elkhart, IN and Joshua Ray Maness of Finger; five brothers David Maness of Jackson, Raywood Maness (Jean) of Counce, Harell Maness (Terri) of Finger, Robert Maness of Wichita, KS and Danny Maness (Loretta) of Finger; three sisters Shirley Swallow (Bob) of Glenn, MS, Susie Smith (Danny) of Finger and Betty Graves (Dennis) of Henderson; seven grandchildren: Madison, Montanna, Damon, Hunter, Ella, Bryan, and Michael and five great grandchildren: Krimson, Ray, Lulu, Ava, and Asher.
Mr. Maness was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Brandy Lipford, two brothers Bill Maness and Larry Maness, and a sister Inetha Robison.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson, Crook Avenue Chapel with James Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12 noon Wednesday.
