Johnny Joe Segars

Johnny Joe Segars was born January 6, 1934 in Hartselle, Alabama the son of the late David Segars and Minnie Higgins Segars Kirk.



He was united in marriage to Marbary Del Richard on August 21, 1963.



Mr. Segars was a carpenter formerly employed with Dement Construction and John Allen Construction. He lived in Vackaville, CA from 1965 to 1969, then moved to Mishawaka, IN, where he lived from 1969 to 1975 before returning to McNairy County. Mr. Segars enjoyed fishing, watching sports on television, and working in his flower garden. When he lived in Indiana, Mr. Segars worked on Volkswagens and was known as "The Bug Doctor." He also enjoyed doing private carpentry and stone mason work for his friends and acquaintances.



Mr. Segars departed this life on May 1, 2011 in Ramer, Tennessee at the age of 77 Years, 3 Months, 25 Days. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marbary Del (Richard) Segars of Ramer, TN; a son, Lee Segars of Ramer, TN; two grandchildren, Abigail T. Segars and Jacob H. Segars, both of Crump, TN; a brother, J. D. Segars and wife Debbie of LaCygne, KS; father-in-law, E. D. Richard; sisters-in-law Doris Sutton and husband Burl, Gene Ingram and Husband Dan, Sandra Scott and husband Ray, Quinnie Bell and husband Ron, and Libby Richard; brothers-in-law Don Richard and wife Marjorie, David Richard and wife Kathy, Steve Richard and wife Sandi, and John Richard and companion Diane.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Segars was preceded in death by a sister, Mary McAnnaly; a brother, Virgil Segars; mother-in-law Maidel Richard; and brother-in-law Mike Richard.
