Johnny Maxray Umphrey departed this life on Thursday, November 12, 2015, at the age of 65 years and 28 days. He was born in Missouri on October 15, 1950, the son of the late Enlow and Verda Dickey Umphrey.
Johnny was self-employed with a courier service and retired from Eastern Airlines. He liked traveling, football, fishing, and cooking. He was a member of Pyburn Union Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Monica Umphrey Davenport of McMinnville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Austin Maxray Gomar, James Riley Priest, and Tyger Tobias Davenport; sisters, Diana Gibbs and husband, Donnie of Stantonville, Tennessee and Robbie Moldenhauer and husband, Dick of Bloomington, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Katrina Carol Umphrey Warren; grandchildren, Johnny Warren and Carol Ann Warren; great-grandchild, Landon Maxray Myers Gomar; brothers, Bill Umphrey, Jamie Umphrey, Jack Umphrey, and Enoch Umphrey; sisters, Jo Hazel Umphrey Watson and Lucille Umphrey.
