JOSEPH BARNETT
Pinson, TN: Joseph Lee Barnett age 85 passed away December 8, 2020 at the TN State Veterans Home at Humboldt.
He was born June 3, 1935 in Pinson, TN, the son of the late David Napoleon and Nannie Rebecca Cooper Barnett. He joined the Navy at the age of 17, and later in the Air Force for a total of over seven years. He worked at the Bemis Cotton Mill and the Sears at Old Hickory Mall in the Appliance Department. He was then self-employed as an appliance dealer in sales and repairs.
He had a love for ministry and he did ten years of volunteer work at Campers on Mission at Camp Baldwin, Elberta, Alabama. He always had his bible in his hand and a supply of bible tracts to share.
Mr. Barnett is survived by two daughters, Terri Sissom of Sugarland, TX and Regina Barnett of Medina, TN; four grandchildren, Amber Loew, Brandi Bushek, Cameron Burns and Brian Smith and five great grandchildren, Kalylee, John, Joel, River and Jasper and a sister, Mary Ann Harrawood (Jim) of West Frankfort, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Angie Emerson.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, December 13th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Roger Alfred officiating.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Springs Cemetery at Pinson.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue beginning at 12:00 PM Sunday until service time at 1:00 PM Sunday.
