Joseph Johnson departed this life in at the Skyline Madison Campus Hospital in Madison, Tennessee on November 8, 2014 at the age of 74 Years, 1 Month, and 7 Days. He was born on October 1, 1940, son to the late William Hezekiah and Pauline Norman Johnson.

He was united in marriage on May 4, 1991 to Cynthia Smith Johnson of Brentwood, Tennessee, who survives.

Mr. Johnson was self-employed as an Account Executive. He had also worked for Nashville Display to help companies market their products, and at Elm Hill Packing and JC Bradford Company as an accountant. He was a member of the Music City Assembly of God Church.

Joseph loved telling jokes and stories. He also enjoyed history, including museums, biographies, military and American history. He enjoyed math and graduated from Central High School in Nashville, Tennessee. His favorite saying was "Everybody loves me. They either love seeing me coming or love seeing me go." Mr. Johnson was proud of his success in his Recovery Program, and he deeply loved his country.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Victoria Stephens and her husband, Peter, of Ashburn, Virginia; two sisters, Elizabeth Boardman of Nashville, Tennessee and Billie Jean Brown of California; and two grandchildren, Bethany Stephens and James Warren Stephens.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Young; and one half-brother, Charles Johnson.
