Montejunas, Joseph G. of Savannah, TN died at the age of 92 on March 27, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.
Joseph, also known as Joe, was born March 25, 1932 in Lynn, MA. He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and was a Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Joseph worked for the Wakefield Light Department in Wakefield, MA as a lineman for 36 years. He retired as lead foreman, a job he undoubtedly enjoyed.
Joe was predeceased by his loving wife, Claire Montejunas, who he was married to for 68 years. His parents, Joseph and Anna Montejunas, his brother, Robert Montejunas and his brothers-in-law, George Upham and James Scott and his wife Yvonne.
He is survived by his sister, Beverly Upham of Swampscott, MA and sister-in-law, Judy Montejunas of Grovesland, MA.
He was the loving father of his children: Beverly (Scott) Aiman of Chatham, NH, Ellen Saulnier of Savannah, TN, David (Rene) Montejunas of Cape Coral, FL. His grandchildren: Gregory (Rene) Montejunas of Antrim, NH, Jessica (John Mack) Nolan of Nashua, NH, Corrine (Elias) Asfour of Lowell, MA, Nicole (Joshua) White of Nashua, NH, Larry Paul (Jennifer) Saulnier of Houston, TX, Matthew (Breeann) Saulnier of Nashua, NH, Colton (Gena) Robinson of Huntsville, AL, Anthony Saulnier of Savannah, TN, Trey Link of Cape Coral, FL, Tyler Beauvais of Cape Coral, FL, and Maegan Aiman of Laconia, NH. Great grandchildren: Autumn Asfour, Paige White, Kyleigh Link, Ridley Link, Jordynn Beauvais and Baylor Robinson.
Joe had a passion for reading and history. If he didn't have his nose in a history book, he was watching the history channel. His passion was the Civil War and WW2 eras. He loved traveling, and spent many years traveling the country with his wife in their motor home.
He loved boating and fishing. He was very proficient at tying all types of sailing knots. He enjoyed teaching the types of knots to anyone that was interested in learning.
Per Joseph's wishes, he requests that he be cremated and no service be held in his honor. Please remember him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was always ready and willing to help others.
