Joe Roberts

Joe Roberts, 78, of Germantown, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Methodist-LeBonheur Hospital in Germantown.

He was born Thursday, December 21, 1944, in Memphis, son of the late Joseph Nelson Roberts, Sr. and Lorene Cross Roberts and lived his whole life in Shelby County.  He worked as an insurance agent, owning Joe N. Roberts & Assoc. Insurance until he retired.  He graduated South Side High School in Memphis in 1962 and was a graduate of UT Martin where in majored in Education prior to becoming an insurance agent.  He enjoyed playing racquetball and working on his farm in Rogers Springs, but especially loved being around his family and grandchildren.  Mr. Roberts was Methodist in belief.

Survivors include his daughter, Judy Harper (Charles) of Cordova; a son, Dan Roberts (Lisa) of New Port, TN; a brother, Jon Roberts (Jackie) of Germantown; and four grandchildren who lit up his world, Joseph Paschall, Jake Roberts, Evan Roberts and Grace Roberts.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Wright and a nephew, Andrew Wright.  Memorial contributions in his name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate).
