Joyce Barnes

Joyce Barnes was born July 11, 1943 in Hardeman County, TN the daughter of the late William Clifford and Maggie Virginia Hardin Price.

She was united in marriage to Neal Barnes on December 31, 1959.

Mrs. Barnes spent most of her married life caring for her family. According to her family she was a wonderful cook - she could fry up the best chicken, whip up a homemade banana pudding and bake the the prettiest pineapple upside down cakes. Family gatherings allowed her to spoil her family with some of her best dishes. Loving and caring for her family especially her grand-babies is how she spent her time.

Her family was her joy but she also enjoyed a good cup or pot of coffee. If you knew Mrs. Barnes then you knew how much she loved the holidays - Thanksgiving and Christmas were her favorites. She decorated her house with all things Christmas, watched Hallmark Christmas movies and listened to Christmas music - all of this was done year long. Her Christmas trees stayed lit all year not only for her enjoyment but also her pets.

Mrs. Barnes departed this life on September 1, 2020 in Tupelo, Mississippi at the age of 77 Years, 1 Month, 21 Days. She is survived by her husband Neal Barnes of Selmer, TN; two daughters, Christa Graham-Holmquist and husband Randy of Selmer, TN, Joy Hunn and husband Steven of Henderson, TN; four grandchildren, Jonathan Christian Graham, Trevor Holmquist, Lillian Hunn, Joshua Hunn; four sisters, Barbara Jo Crouse, Billie Wilson and husband Guy, Faye Ferguson, Doris McLain and husband Jimmy; two brothers, James Price and wife Linda, Michael Price and wife Debbie; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs Barnes was preceded in death by her in-laws, R.C. and Freddie Mae Barnes.
