Joyce Dixon Butler, age 88, of Florence, AL, departed this world on February 27, 2026. She was born on June 21, 1937, in Collinwood, TN, the daughter of the late Johnny Rayford and Hazel Grimes Dixon.

On November 11, 1955, Joyce found love and companionship when she united in marriage to Cecil Clyde Butler, until his passing on July 15, 2014. Together, they created a warm and loving home that embodied the essence of family.

A long-time member of the Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, TN, Joyce lived her life with faith and kindness, touching the hearts of many. Throughout her career, she dedicated many years of service to Genesco Manufacturing Company in Waynesboro, TN, and later worked alongside her sister in Florence, AL, where she made lasting friendships.

Known for her adventurous spirit she loved to travel – never one to turn down an opportunity for a vacation, she was always ready with a smile and an eager heart at the mention of a trip.

Above all, Joyce's greatest joy came from the time spent with her family, who were her world. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering love will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew her.

As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life, we remember a woman whose dedication to family, friends, and community serves as an inspiring legacy. Joyce will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Cecil Butler (Melonie) of Florence, AL; daughter, Beverly Joyce Brewer (Eddie) of Florence, AL; sisters, Louise Mullendore of Muscle Shoals, AL, and Lucille Reynolds of Muscle Shoals, AL; grandchildren, Brian Brewer (Amber), Jennifer Brewer, Katie White (Connor), and Jesse Butler (Caroline); and great grandchildren, Molly, Gabe, Lawson, Elsie, Carter, and Wallace.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, J.R. "Junior" Dixon; and sister, Elizabeth Dixon.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Kerry Franks officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens of Wayne County in Collinwood, TN.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Butler, Brian Brewer, Ricky Butler, Trip McCabe, Connor White, and Tim Gable
