Joyce Dee Norato

Joyce Dee Collins Norato, age 74, of Iron City, TN, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her beloved family. Joyce was born on January 3, 1951, in Waynesboro, TN, the cherished daughter of the late William Thomas and Beulah Rowden Collins.

Joyce's journey through life was marked by her unwavering love for others. In her early years, she dedicated herself to her work as a seamstress at Angelica Manufacturing Company. Later, Joyce embraced the role of a devoted homemaker, pouring her heart into caring for her family, a role she held dear to her heart.

On May 18, 2007, Joyce united in marriage to Alfredo "Fred" Norato, forming a bond that brought joy and companionship.

As a member of Millrock Freewill Baptist Church, she found strength and community, nurturing her faith throughout her life.

Joyce had a profound love for her dogs, pouring her affection into every moment spent with them. Her passion for cooking filled her home with warmth and delicious aromas, while her love for gardening bloomed in her beautiful flower and vegetable beds. She found deep joy in the simple pleasures of nurturing life from the earth.

Above all, Joyce treasured the moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Each hug, smile, and shared laughter was a testament to her enduring love and commitment to those she held closest.

Joyce's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding us of the beauty of love, kindness, and joyful living. Her legacy is one of compassion, warmth, and an unwavering spirit that inspired everyone around her.

She is survived by her husband, Alfredo "Fred" Norato; son, Dominic Norato (Kadi); daughters, Mary Sharp Velasco, Nareyda Michelle Norato, Carol Glass, and Alva Hershberger (Donnie); brother, Vernan Collins; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her sons, Franklin Sharp and Gerald Sharp.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Ary Cemetery in Perry County, TN.

Pallbearers will be Dominic Norato, C.J. Velasco, Tylar Sharp, Carlos Velasco, David Varela, and Melvin Harris.
