Joyce Pickens Valencia Hicks

JOYCE PICKENS VALENCIA HICKS

was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 15, 1963 the daughter of the late Dalton Griffen and Nellie Marie Harville Pickens.

On June 2, 2011 she was united in marriage to John Shannon Hicks, who survives.

Mrs. Hicks lived in Hardin County all of her life. She was a nurse at Hardin County Nursing Home for 10 years and also worked as a nurse for Hardin County General Hospital for 7 years. Mrs. Hicks was of Pentecostal and Baptist belief. She enjoyed watching TV and writing notes to all her friends and family.

Mrs. Hicks departed this life on September 28, 2015 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 52 years, 2 months and 13 days.

In addition to her husband, John S. Hicks of 4 years, she is survived by her children, Charlie Accree of Savannah, Tennessee, Angel Scott and Sara Scott both of Adamsville, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one sister, April Marie Pickens, one brother, James Hopper and one half brother, Lawton Balentine.
