Joyce M. Waters was born on January 12, 1945 in Counce, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Herbert Eugene and Mary Faye Phillips Martin.
Ms. Waters currently worked for East Hardin Elementary School as a librarian assistant. She previously worked as a director for the USO in Memphis, Tennessee and then Millington, Tennessee. She later worked for the Salvation Army - Women's Shelter in Memphis before moving home to Counce in 2014.
Joyce was a member of Counce First Baptist Church and served as a pianist for Pickwick United Methodist Church.
Joyce loved to play Bridge and go shopping. She was also known as a seamstress extraordinaire.
Joyce M. Waters departed this life on February 11, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 79 years and 30 days.
She is survived by her sister, Janice Porterfield of Atlanta, Texas; brothers, Phillip Martin of Las Cruses, New Mexico and Tommy Martin and his wife Joanne of Counce, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Mitch Williams, Marty Williams, Melynn Williams, Ray Porterfield, Jill Glissman, Jason Martin, Patrick Martin, Brad Martin, and Brooke Wright; and several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her former husband of 10 years, John Waters.
