J.T. (Jake) Petty

J.T. (JAKE) PETTY

was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on July 17, 1934 the son of the late Tom and Rosie Keele Petty.

Mr. Petty was a mail truck driver for P & E Trucking Company in Memphis, Tennessee for 10 years and he also had been a commercial musseler. Mr. Petty enjoyed fishing and he loved going out to eat at different places with anyone who was ready to go. He attended Bible Baptist Church in Savannah and First Assembly of God in Savannah.

Mr. Petty departed this life on December 12, 2015 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 81 years, 4 months and 25 days.

He is survived by his children, Theresa Scates and her husband Greg of Linden, Tennessee, Nancy Rogers and her husband Jimmy of Guntown, Mississippi, Johnny Petty of Savannah, Tennessee, Jerry Petty of Savannah, Tennessee, Martha Melton of Waynesboro, Tennessee and Pamela Earnhart of Waynesboro, Tennessee.

12 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren

one sister, Grace White of Adamsville, Tennessee

one brother, Vernon Buck Petty of Savannah, Tennessee

several step brothers and sisters

and a host of cousins

Mr. Pettys is also survived by the mother of his children, Phyllis Petty of Savannah.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
