JUANITA ‘PINKIE’ MORRIS
Pinson, TN: Juanita Mae Coonrod Morris age 93 passed away December 7, 2017, at her home.
She was born December 4, 1924 in Ironton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Earl and Edith Hazel Bower Coonrod. She attended school in Charleston, West VA. She married Elbert Morris Sr. June 14, 1945 and they moved to Jackson, TN in 1947. Mr. Morris passed away May 25, 1996. They were married over 50 years. She attended West Tennessee Business College. She worked at Hubert Owens Construction in Jackson as secretary and bookkeeper for many years. She later managed Walker’s Cleaner in Henderson and Jackson retiring in 2001 due to health reasons. She and her sister Anita were the famous Care All sisters Pinkie and Bluie (she was Pinkie) seen on television commercials. She was a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir for many years. She was a member of the Deanburg Baptist Church. She published a book “Inspirational Poems” in 2010 at 86 years old. She loved her family and loved her Jesus!
Mrs. Morris is survived by a daughter, Patricia Kaye Howell and husband Larry of Luray; a son, Buddy Morris and wife Brenda of Decaturville; 6 grandchildren, Clint Maness (Stephanie), Mandi Garner, Barbie Miller, Jimmy Morris, Lori Walls and Christy Hughes; 11 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren and a sister, Anita (Bluie) Pick of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elbert Morris, Sr. May 25, 1996; sisters, Marcella Smith, Jean Woods, Lois Loretta Coonrod and Esther Lou Coonrod and brothers, Bernard Coonrod, Francis Coonrod, William Coonrod, George Franklin Coonrod, Sherman Coonrod, Samuel Coonrod, Amuel Coonrod and Bobby Lee Coonrod.
Funeral services will be 12:30 PM Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel with Glenn Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
