Juddie Ann Schnakenberg, a devoted and compassionate lifelong nurse, passed away on June 5, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Born on November 11, 1949, Juddie dedicated her life to caring for others and enriching her community through both her professional work and personal passions.

She was deeply committed to her nursing career, where her gentle spirit and expert care touched the lives of countless patients and their families. Beyond her vocation, Juddie nurtured a profound love for the natural world. Her fondness for animals, plants, and the great outdoors was evident in the way she embraced gardening as a joyful and fulfilling pastime. She was known as a remarkable gardener, cultivating her surroundings with patience and love.

Juddie had a heartfelt devotion to rescue dogs and was an ardent advocate for animals in need. She found happiness in adopting from local animal shelters and opening her heart and home to those deserving creatures. Her compassion extended beyond her immediate circle, embodying a genuine desire to make the world a kinder place.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Michelle Avent of Portland, Tennessee; her sisters, Betty Tosh and Dorothy Cox, both residing in Hornsby, Tennessee; and her brother, Ray Ervin of Bolivar, Tennessee. Juddie was also cherished by several nieces and nephews who carry forward her legacy of kindness and care.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ermel Ervin and Georgie Mae Ervin, and her brother, Bill Ervin.

Juddie Ann Schnakenberg’s life was one of selfless service, profound love for nature and animals, and dedication to family and community. She will be remembered for her nurturing heart, her unwavering compassion, and the quiet strength she brought to all aspects of her life.
