Mrs. Batey died Sunday morning at her home.



The wife of James Batey, who survives, she was retired as a bank teller with First Tennessee Bank in Jackson. She was born June 23, 1936 in Alamo, daughter of the late Ream and Abbie Lou Cooke Turner and lived in Jackson prior to moving to Middleton. She was a member of the Middleton Church of Christ.



In addition to her husband, whom she married on April 30, 2000, survivors include a daughter, Susan Lewis of Franklin; two sons, Danny Bridger of Jackson and Ricky Bridger of Rogers, Ark.; a sister, Betty Williams of Gibson; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Bridger, Jennifer Vannoy, Stacey Kelley, Megan, Madison and Mallory Lewis; and 8 great grandchildren.
