America Kalena Martin was born on August 15, 1931 in Savannah, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Herbert and Elsie Cromwell.
In 1961, Kalena began her 30-year career as a receptionist with Packaging Corporation of America (Tennessee River Pulp and Paper). She puts lots and lots of phone calls through!! Kalena was also a member of East End United Methodist Church.
Kalena loved being a daughter, mother, cousin, and special friend to everyone. Her house proudly displays all of her son Wayne's motorcycle trophies and photos of her extended family. She also loved her cat, Snoopy, and her caregivers, Ms. Zan Marenchin and Ms. Robin Hampton.
Kalena loved to tell us all stories, especially of her time living in Texas and how good the food was there! She had a pure heart and such a sweet spirit that brought out the best in those who had the honor of knowing her. There is no doubt she is joining her family at the pearly gates.
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him. This verse encompasses Kalena.
