Karen Faye Davis

March 8, 1943 — April 6, 2020

Karen Faye (Glover) Davis, 77, passed from this earth into the arms of Jesus to be carried to her heavenly home at 3:56, April 6, 2020 after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s and complications from a broken leg.

Karen was born March 8, 1943 in Kentucky to Lawrence “Pete” Glover and Phyllis Faye MacArthur. She moved to Florida at the age of 12. It was there that she met the love of her life, her “tall, dark and handsome man” James S. Davis. They married November 17th, 1960. They began a family and had four beautiful children. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and Mam-ma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Karen worked for many years as a bookkeeper and title/deed researcher. She was an amazing, talented and intelligent woman. She loved puzzles of all kinds and was an avid reader, collecting thousands of books. She was a talented artist who could make anything with a needle. Her cross-stitched pictures were works of art. She also knitted and crocheted making many dresses and outfits for her children and grandchildren. Hundreds of babies were the recipients of matching sweater sets crocheted by Karen and presented upon their arrivals.

She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ and attended the Finger Church of Christ for years. She was an active member and served as a Bible teacher for children, as wife of an Elder in the church, and Freed- Hardeman Associate using her talents to promote the school. She was a welcoming hostess and the Davis home was open to any needing a meal or for Bible studies, youth activities, and more.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Sharon Glover, an infant brother, and her middle daughter, Amber Davis Kenyon.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 59 years, James S. Davis; her children, Adrienne Davis Riggs (Henderson, TN), Gregory (Dianne) Davis, (Tallahassee, FL) and April Davis Milton of Tampa, Florida, grandchildren: Aimee (Ricky) Cupples, Robert Chagnon, Shannon Marie Chagnon, Thomas (Barbara) Riggs, Autumn (Will) Vann, Rick (Stephanie) Kenyon, Rebecca Davis, Doug Davis, Brittany (Spencer) Hickle and Jake Milton. Great-Grandchildren: Ethan Chagnon, Aiden Chagnon Thomas, Allie Thomas, Caleb Chagnon, Claire Chagnon, Mac Vann, Avery Vann, Klark Kenyon, and Karissa Kenyon, Caleb Cupples and Ashlynn Cupples: She also leaves her brother, Lawrence (Georgia Lee) Glover, and nephew Gary Glover and his family and a sister-in-law, Gloria Harrod.
