Karen Gordon

Karen Gordon was born on November 24, 1945 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of the late Daniel and Barbara Stading Thomas.

On July 5, 1985, she was united in marriage to Donald Gordon, Jr., who preceded his wife in death on December 19, 2019.

Karen retired from City of Rock Island Finance Department where she worked as a payroll account tech. She was a devoted Christian. Mrs. Gordon was a member of First Evangelical Free of Moline, Illinois and attended Saltillo Baptist Church where she was a part of the choir and Bible study. She also made a lot of missionary supply kits and missionary supplies. Karen loved gardening, plants, and camping. She was an animal lover and especially enjoyed hummingbirds, her dogs, and her macaw.

Karen Gordon departed this life on August 31, 2026 in Saltillo, Tennessee, at the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 7 days.

She is survived by her sons, Brian S. Hayes of LaGrange, Kentucky and Geoffrey M. Hayes of Saltillo, Tennessee; sister, Georgia Laird of Moline, Illinois; grandchildren, Dru Hayes, Miranda Hayes, Kaela Hayes, and Zachre Hayes; and great grandchildren, Amelia Hayes, Hunter Hayes, Hazel Hayes, and Harrison Hayes.
