Katherine Reed

Katherine Reedwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 17, 1924 the daughter of the late Wylie and Ida Ethel Godwin Hurst.On May 29, 1950 she was united in marriage to Joe Walker Reed, who preceded her in death on December 2, 2003.Mrs. Reed had worked for the Nuclear Plant at Oak Ridge, Brown Shoe Company, and Savannah Manufacturing. She was also a farmer's wife and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cared about her family and dealing with area boys. Mrs. Reed was a member of Robertson's Chapel Methodist Church.Mrs. Reed departed this life on Friday, January 14, 2011 at the age of 86 years, 5 months, 28 days.She is survived by 2 sisters, Ida Mae Alexander of Wichita, Texas and Bonnie Heckle of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Betty Reed of Savannah, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 infant children and a brother, J.D. Hurst.
