Katie Sue Allen

Was born in Tippah County, Mississippi on August 14, 1935, the daughter of the late John Bedford and Carrie Nelson Shaw.

On May 25, 2004, she was united in marriage to George Wayne Allen, who survives.

Katie was a retired factory worker. She was a member of Grace Baptist Chapel, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Katie departed this life on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 89 years and 20 days. 

In addition to her husband of 20 years, George Allen of Savannah, Tennessee she is survived by one daughter, Brenda Johnson Brown and her husband Terry of Corinth, Mississippi formerly of Memphis, Tennessee; stepchildren, Robert Allen and his wife Brenda of St. Augustine, Florida, Rosanne Austin and her husband Chuck of Green Cove Springs, Florida, and Teresa Gossett of Fulton, Mississippi; grandchildren, Gregory Michael Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee, Nick Brown and his wife Sharon of Jackson, Tennessee, and Corey Brown of Corinth, Mississippi; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Johnson; second husband, Charles Shepard; son, Rickey L. Johnson; 13 brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
