Kay McDaniel

Kay McDaniel was born December 29, 1953 in Lagrange, GA, the daughter of the late Bentley and Mickey Vining Thompson.

Kay was united in marriage to Eddie Neal McDaniel on June 8, 1974. Mr. McDaniel preceded her in death on November 5, 2013. She graduated from the University of North Alabama. She worked for the Department of Human Services and Developmental Center in Selmer, TN. She was a member of the Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Savannah, Tennessee.

Kay loved peanut butter, Bob Dylan, butterflies, watching birds in her yard, PBS and the BBC, digging in the dirt, jigsaw puzzles, trading cards, funky earrings, a good book, justice for all, kindness, equality, banana pudding, a fan on at night, coffee, dogs, a funny story, Zinnias, courage, John Prine, mangling the English language, yard art, flea markets, her dear, dear friends, her church, her family, and her beloved son. A light has dimmed.

Mrs. McDaniel departed this life on December 19, 2020 in Stantonville, Tennessee at the age of 66 Years, 11 Months, 20 Days.

She is survived by a son, Jeremy McDaniel of Stantonville, TN; a sister, Beth Nasworthy and husband Huby of Pine Mountain, GA; a brother, Benny Thompson and wife Debbie of Manchester, GA; niece, Tiffany Smith and husband Larry of Columbia, GA; niece, Taylor Stephens and husband Michael of Jacksonville, FL; great aunt and cousin, Mary Lou and Polly Stader of Memphis, TN; many beloved great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Edward McDaniel.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 10:30 am until funeral Mass at 12 pm all held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Savannah, Tennessee, with Father Dexter Noblefranca officiating. Burial will follow in the West Shiloh Cemetery at Stantonville, Tennessee.
- Masks will be required to attend visitation and service. -
