With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved brother, James Kenneth Hannah (Ken) who left us on June 20th, 2025 at the age of 55.
Ken had a rare gift for storytelling — he could captivate a room with tales from the past, always full of heart, humor, and wisdom. He cherished his family deeply and found great joy in spending time with his nieces and nephews, who adored their uncle for his big heart and even bigger personality.
He proudly served with the sheriff’s office, a role that fit his protective nature and genuine desire to help others. Whether he was guiding someone through choosing the right vehicle or lending a hand to a neighbor in need, Ken lived with purpose and compassion.
A man of simple pleasures, he loved good home-cooked meals — especially those that reminded him of his childhood and our mama, Peggy’s cooking. He had a special appreciation for restaurants that could capture that same warmth and flavor, often sharing stories around the table that made everyone feel right at home.
In his spare time, Ken enjoyed collecting weapons, a hobby that reflected both his respect for history and his unique character. He lived life with authenticity, loyalty, and a heart full of love for his family, friends, and community.
He is survived by his brothers Harold Donald Hannah (& wife Cindy), Wallace Ronald Hannah (& wife Lori), sister Genoka Anita Thomassy (& husband Fern), his nieces/nephews Hunter Austin Hannah & great nephew Cohen Lane Hannah, niece Haily Ashton Duggin (& husband Tanner) & great nephews Carson Brooks & Levi Reed, (niece) Kelsey Lee Hannah, (nephew) Colton Blake Hannah, (step nephew & niece) Andrew Carson Johnson & Baylea Mackenzie Johnson, and so many more who were blessed to know him. His absence leaves an unfillable space, but his memory lives on in every story shared, every laugh remembered, and every meal that brings back the taste of home.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on June 28th, at Shackelford’s Funeral Directors 450 Church St, Savannah, TN 38372. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.
