KEN SMITH :
Finger, TN: Kenneth Neil Smith age 77 passed away October 8, 2017 at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 9, 1940 in Saginaw, MI and was reared in Mio, MI, the son of the late John Leroy and Dora Ellen Lake Smith. He went to school in Mio, MI and graduated Mio High School in 1958. He married Margaret Dew in 1959. They made their home in MI until moving to Henderson in 1979. He was a logger in MI and had been in logging for about twenty years. He loved to travel with his family and especially with his grandchildren. He was a Baptist in belief.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Margaret Sadie Dew Smith of Finger; a son, Kenneth Neil Smith, Jr. and wife Melissa of Montezuma; a daughter, Emily Margaret Cherry and husband Danny of Finger; three grandchildren, Daniel Cherry (Katie), Blake Smith (Whitney) and Kendyl Smith and three great grandchildren, Mackenzie Cherry, Emma Cherry and Daniel Cherry; two brothers, Donny Smith (Jeanie) and Mac Smith (Donna) and a sister Sharon Webb all of MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Edward Wayne Smith in 1986, a grandson, Joshua Jarrad (1983); two brothers, Gary Smith and Gail Smith and a sister, Nancy Stinman.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with David Baggett officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery at McNairy.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday.
