Ken Elder, born on December 20, 1965, in Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on September 19, 2025, in Henderson, Tennessee. He will be profoundly missed by the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
Ken was not only a devoted father to his children but also an affectionate grandfather who treasured every moment he spent with his 7 grandchildren. He was the proud father of Crystal Elder of Toone, Kenny Elder and Joanna of Somerville, Cameron Jay Elder and Sierra of Clarksville, and Keith Tyler Elder of Clarksville. His legacy will continue through them, as they carry forward the values and love he imparted to them.
As a brother, he was cherished by his siblings, Calvin Elder and Tiffany of Henderson, and Susan Ann Burkeen and Billy of Bolivar. The bond they shared was a source of strength and comfort, filled with laughter and memories that will forever remain in their hearts. Ken's life was also entwined with that of his ex-wife and the mother of his children, Peggy Plant of Clarksville, with whom he shared many cherished parenting moments.
In his professional life, Ken was known as the owner of Ken's Speed Shop, where he dedicated his skills and passion for cars, bringing joy to fellow enthusiasts. Recently semi-retired, he enjoyed every opportunity to connect with his community, particularly through his membership at Whiteville Pentecostal Church.
Ken's vibrant personality shone through in his love for the outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or cheering at the drag strip, his enthusiasm was contagious. He had a particular fondness for duck hunting. Ken was also an avid fan of Big-Foot stories, and he found immense joy in gatherings with friends at his clubhouse and experiences at swap meets.
Though Ken has departed this life, he leaves behind a remarkable legacy of family, friendship, and shared memories. He is preceded in death by his father, Carlos Elder, Jr., and mother, Mary Ann Sipes Elder, as well as his brother, Carl Elder, whose absence adds to the immeasurable loss felt by his surviving family and friends.
As we remember Ken Elder, let us celebrate a life filled with passion, laughter, love, and the unwavering bond of family. His spirit will forever remain a guiding light to all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
