Kenneth Raymond Mayer

Mr. Mayer died Saturday morning at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Whiteland, Indiana, he was the son of the late Harold and Mary Mayer. In December, 1960, he married Bobbie Taylor. Mr. Mayer served his country in the US Navy for 20 years, retiring as Chief Petty Officer, 1st Class. Upon leaving the military, he moved to Hardeman county where he was employed by Western Mental Health Institute for 20 years. Mr. Mayer also served Toone as assistant postmaster. Described by his family as a loving husband and father, he enjoyed working on the farm and was a member of the Bolivar 1st United Methodist Church.
He leaves his wife, Bobbie Mayer of Toone; 3 sons, Todd Mayer and wife, Donna; Tim Mayer and wife, Gloria - both of Toone and Ted Mayer and wife, Sonya of Finger; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn.
