Kenneth Walker

James Kenneth Walker passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, January 30, 2020. Kenneth was born in Robertson County, Tennessee on May 31, 1939 the son of the late James Paul and Margaret Dillaha Walker.

Kenneth graduated from Springfield High School and Vanderbilt University with a degree in Civil Engineering. During his 57 year career he was employed as an engineer for Preston Carroll Construction Company. He retired as Vice President of John D. Stephens, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout his life, Kenneth was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and hunting. He was an outstanding golfer, being recognized in 1976 by Golf Digest Magazine as the Most Improved Golfer at Savannah Country Club. In retirement, Kenneth became an accomplished and respected wildlife photographer. He was well known for his photographs of eagles, ospreys and other birds.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ida Lou Morris Walker and sister, Virginia Walker Watkins. He is survived by his daughter, LuAnn Walker Brewer of Adamsville and his son, Kenny Walker. He is also survived by grandsons, Dustin and Dakota Brewer of Adamsville, sisters, Carolyn Walker Hensman (Richard) of Lewisville, North Carolina, and Paula Walker Jordan (Jaime) of Springfield, Tennessee, brother-in-law Tommy Morris and wife Nancy of Adamsville, sister-in-law, Rose Crunk of Savannah, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
