Mr. King, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Chester County, he was the son of the late Jim and Jewel Ivy King and lived most of his life in the Woodville area. He graduated from Chester County High School in the class of 1949 and on April 21, 1951, he married the former Doris Lee Isbell, who survives. In his earlier years, Mr. King worked in construction and as a diesel mechanic. He worked a number of years for Hardeman Garment in Bolivar and for 30 years (1978-2008) was the owner/operator of King's Auto Parts, the NAPA dealer in Bolivar. He attended Abundant Faith Fellowship Church and enjoyed fishing, collecting and refurbishing antiques and especially loved his family.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter, Sharon (Roger) Vandiver of Hornsby; his two sons, Greg (Wanda) King of Bethel Springs and Ritchie (Kristie) King of Beech Bluff; three brothers, Gorman (Judy) King and Paschal King, both of Hornsby, and Larry (Tommy) King of Cookeville, TN; 8 grandchildren, Nalani and Jeff Vandiver, Jessica Matthews, David, Jennifer, Brandon, Wesley and Jonathan King; and 12 great-grandchildren, Makynlee Campbell, Gunner Gilbert, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn, Kendall and Carter Vandiver, Dylan and Colby King; Ethan and Jacob Matthews, Cali and Mila Morgan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Delight Roland,who raised him from a baby; a sister, Oneida Russom; a brother, Raymond King
