L. C. Russell

Mr. Russell died Sunday morning, January 13, 2013, at Methodist Healthcare Hospice in Memphis.



A native of Brownfield, Mississippi, he was the son of the late L. A. and Medy Hodge Russell. Mr. Russell served his country in the US Navy during World War II from May 26, 1944 to March 13, 1946, achieving the rank of Carpenter's Mate, Third Class. On December 10, 1951, he married the former Maxine Dixon and they had been married 61 years at the time of his passing. He retired as a Master Electrician from Mid-South Electric Company in 1996 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.



He leaves his wife, Maxine Russell of Memphis; two daughters, Brenda Lindsey and Debra Yarbrough, both of Arlington, TN; two sons, Keith Russell of Munford and Gary Russell of Memphis; two sisters, O. C. Russell and Billie Jo Frazier, both of Ripley, MS; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
