LaJuana Faye Denney

Mrs. Denney died at her sister's home in Hernando, Miss., on July 18, 2007.



She was the widow of Ollie A. Denney, who died in 1997 and was a homemaker and formerly worked at Hill's Cleaners in Bolivar for 10 years. She was born in Hardeman County on June 16, 1947 to the late James J. Smith, Jr. and Opal Majors Smith and lived in Indiana from 1967-1991 when she returned to this area. She attended Rocky Springs Baptist Church near Rogers Springs.



Survivors include four girls that she raised - Brenda Dillon of Whiteville and Belinda Melvin of Otwell, Ind., her daughters; Kecia Wixted of Fort Wayne, Ind., her step-daughter; and Syrena Smith of Memphis, her niece; three sisters, Cathy Brown of Hobart, Ind., Sheila Green and Elizabeth Smith, both of Hernando, Miss.; three brothers, James D. Smith of Henry, Tenn., Sam Smith of Portage, Ind., and Steven Smith of Lake Station, Ind.; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Smith.
