Lara Jo Milligan Bonee was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on August 8, 1970, the daughter of the late Waymon Lloyd and Ina Gustelle (Evans) Milligan. She was the youngest of nine children. She worked at the Brown Shoe Company, Angelica, and for the last several years, at Pickwick Cabin Rentals.
She was united in marriage to Steven Glen Bonee on April 24, 1987, in Savannah, Tennessee. They shared 39 years, two sons, and four grandchildren together. She enjoyed the outdoors, riding 4-wheelers and motorcycles, camping, and spending time at the creek with her sons, nieces, and grandbabies. She will forever the be remembered as the mom and aunt who cheered the loudest from the bleachers and sidelines.
She passed away on September 5, 2026, with her devoted husband at her side.
She is survived by her husband, Steven; two sons, Colton Tyler Bonee and Dillon Race Bonee; four grandchildren, Clark, Ethan, Brennan, and Baylor; three sisters, Myra (John) Hudgens, Beverly (Jerry) White, Sondra (Robert) McKellips; one brother, Anthony (Patsy) Milligan; and several nieces and nephews. Lara was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Marion and Dwight Milligan; and two sisters, Jane Franks and Alice Cox.
Memorial donations may be made to the Darryl Worley Foundation.
