Larry Holland Floyd, age 77, of Ramer, Tennessee, passed peacefully from this life on June 28, 2026, in Selmer, Tennessee.
Born on May 23, 1949, in Selmer, Tennessee, Larry was the son of the late Holland Loranza Floyd and Beedie Estella Plunk Floyd. He built a life defined by hard work, unwavering devotion to his family, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
On August 7, 1976, Larry married the love of his life, Linda Knight. Together they shared nearly fifty wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Their fiftieth wedding anniversary would have been celebrated on August 7 of this year—a testament to a lifetime of faithfulness and commitment.
Larry dedicated more than 38 years of service to Western State in Bolivar, Tennessee, where he earned the respect of coworkers through his dependable work ethic and quiet dedication.
When he wasn't working, Larry found his greatest enjoyment outdoors. Whether he was hunting in the woods, casting a line on a peaceful day of fishing, or searching for hidden treasures with his metal detector, he found joy in the simple pleasures of nature. He appreciated the excitement of discovery and the peace that came from spending time outdoors, creating memories that will forever be treasured by those who shared those moments with him.
Above all else, Larry treasured his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and delighted great-grandfather whose greatest accomplishments were found not in what he owned, but in the family he loved so deeply. His steady presence, kind heart, and quiet strength will be remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda (Knight) Floyd of Ramer, Tennessee; his son, Christopher Shannon Floyd; his daughter, Pamela Jean Isbell; five grandchildren, Hunter Ross, Megan Morton, Ty Ross, Makenzie Floyd, and Kaydence Floyd; six great-grandchildren, Brystol Morton, Hattie Morton, Baylor McMahan, Jaycee Bizzel, Reid Goolsby, and Bryson Goolsby; along with extended family and many friends who will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a beloved grandchild, Lang Allen Goolsby; and two brothers, Leland Neal Floyd and Lowell Thomas Floyd.
Though his journey on earth has ended, the legacy Larry leaves behind lives on in the family he loved, the values he instilled, and the countless memories made along life's path. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held close in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
