Mr. Larry Holmes

Mr. Larry Holmes age 69 passed away at his home in Huron, Tn Tuesday May 17, 2016.

Mr. Holmes was born in Martin Tennessee, son of the late Ernest and Overne Higgs Holmes. He attended school in Dresden Tennessee and graduated from Dresden High School in 1964 and later attended West Tennessee Business College. He was married to Phyllis Blankenship. Mr. Holmes was a sales agent, District Manager and Sales Manager for Independent Life Insurance Company which later became American General Life. He also had achieved the Life Underwriters Training Course Fellow with American General.

Mr. Holmes was a member of the Unity Baptist Church, enjoyed Golf, Guitar and UT Football.
Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife Phyllis Blankenship Holmes, one son Jason Holmes both of Huron. A sister Brenda Copeland (Jerry) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and a brother Don Holmes (Pam) of Jackson Tennessee.

Funeral Services for Mr. Holmes will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors Johnson Chapel, with Dr. James Huggins and Houston Ehrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Unity Cemetery at Jacks Creek.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at Shackleford Funeral Directors Johnson Chapel.
