LARRY MANESS
Henderson, TN: Larry Edward Maness age 74 passed away November 5, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born January 15, 1944 in Chester County, the Hickory Corner Community, the son of the late Jess Willard and Eula Virginia Crouse Maness. He attended schools in Hickory Corner. He married Sherry Phillips in 1961. He had worked at Brown Shoe Company and did mechanic work at various service stations and repair shops. He had served as a Deputy for Sheriff R.D. Smith. He married Carol King in 1971. They made their home near Masseyville and Laurel Hill. He retired from Miller’s Machine Shop working for L.T. and Henry Miller. He was a Baptist in faith.
He enjoyed all kinds of hunting, particularly turkey and deer hunting.
Mr. Maness is survived by his wife, Carol King Maness; three sons, Mike Maness of Henderson, Daryl Maness of Oakdale, LA and Cody Maness of Finger; two daughters, Kim Holloway of Lexington and Amy Maness of Henderson; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; seven brothers, David Maness of Jackson, Bill Maness of Finger, Raywood Maness of Counce, Harrel Maness of Finger, Johnny Maness of Finger, Robert Maness of Wichita, KS and Danny Maness of Finger and four sisters, Inetha Robison of Finger, Shirley Swallow of Glenn, MS, Susie Smith of Finger and Betty Graves of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Phil Maness in 2001, a grandson, Curtis St. Louis in 2001 and a great grandson, Phillip Samson Thornhill.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Ken Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday.
