Larry Dean Reed departed this life on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 13 days. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 10, 1943, the son of the late Fred Reed and Daisy Bowling Blount.
Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war receiving the Bronze Star. He retired from PCA, where he was a machine tender, after 39 years with the company. Larry was an active member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and cooked for the high school sports teams. He loved old hot rods and muscle cars, the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing; but most of all he loved the Lord Jesus Christ and looked forward to spending eternity with Him.
Larry is survived by his children, Rocky Reed of Savannah, Tennessee, April Irby of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Chad Reed of Lebanon, Tennessee; grandchildren, Madelyn Irby of Tuscumbia, Alabama, Rocky Lee Reed of Wichita, Kansas, Steven Reed of Savannah, Tennessee, and Zach Womble of Hendersonville, Tennessee; great grandchildren, Amelia Reed, Avery Reed, and Silas Reed, all of Wichita, Kansas; sisters, Mary Friedlander of Germantown, Tennessee, Dianne Reed of Savannah, Tennessee, and Ruthie Qualls of Savannah, Tennessee; brothers, Jimmy Blount of Augusta, South Carolina and Tim Blount of West Palm Beach, Florida; and the mother of his children and who helped with his care, Barbara Reed of Florence, Alabama.
