Larry Morgan Richardson departed this life on December 24, 2014 at his residence in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 65 years, 10 months, and 9 days. He was born on February 15, 1949 in Houston, Mississippi, son to the late Ezekiel Morgan Richardson and Collene Banks Hamilton, who survives.
Mr. Richardson served his country in the Coast Guard in Miami for four years. After that, he worked for the City of Savannah in general maintenance. During his lifetime, he was also employed with the Army Corps of Engineers from which he had been retired from for 27 years. He also worked with Grover Williams. He was a member of the Savannah Church of Christ for most of his life, and he had recently became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
Larry was very involved within his community. He worked with the Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout himself. He was also a very active member of the Dreamweavers Acting Troop. He was a member of the Art Guild and also helped to design the library. He was a part of the Savannah Arts Commission , Hardin County Jesus Cares, Lions Club, Shriners, Masonic Lodge, Fair Board, Civil Air Patrol and the Library Board. He was well-known by many people in the community and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children, Raina Richardson and Morgan Richardson of Savannah, Tennessee; siblings, Ron Richardson of Louisville, Kentucky, Fran Richardson, Janet Carroll, and Terry Richardson all of Columbia, Tennessee; and grandchild, Gavyn Richardson.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister, Joy Carroll.
