Larry Ennis Wall was born on September 7, 1942, to Paul and Juanita (Nita) Wall, he grew up surrounded by family between Memphis and Mississippi. He played trumpet in the band at Kingsbury High School. Later he was a competitive figure skater and instructor at Skateland Summer in Memphis and even during his time in the United States Air Force while stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Larry was a proud husband, father, grandfather and friend. He married Janice Maxwell and together they raised three children; Jennifer Wall Horton (Greg), Sara Wall Saulters (Clay) and Andy Wall. They have three Granddaughters, Gabrielle Horton, Alexandria Wall & Virginia Wall. He was highly involved with Shelby Youth Sports Track & Field for over a decade, first as a parent, then Coach, then Director. In his retirement from the Memphis City Schools, he enjoyed spending time with his family and restoring old motorcycles. After a period of illness, he passed away on May 16, 2026, at the age of 83. He is survived by all the afore-mentioned family members. He will be missed by many, including very close extended family.
