Laura Griffin was born February 28, 1921 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Eugene Franklin and Minnie Pearl Moore Richard.
In 1941, Ms. Laura married Mr. Griffin. Two children were born to the union, Paul and Teresa. She was a chef and the foods she cooked were loved by all, including her famous chicken and dumplings, butter rolls, and chicken and dressing. Laura had a very sharp mind, loved her cat "Boots," watching the NBA (especially Shaquille O'Neal), and beautiful flowers. Her daughter Teresa owns the Selmer Flower Shop and Ms. Laura loved to go and visit with her customers and help make beautiful flower arrangements. Ms. Laura was a beautiful flower herself. She loved her family and her church, Eastview Baptist Church. She had shown her love in many ways every day to those around her. What a great lady of faith!
Laura departed this life on April 9, 2012 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 1 Month, 12 Days.
She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Walker and husband Jeff, and a son, Paul Griffin and wife Annette, all of Eastview; five grandchildren: Paula, Angela, Lynn, Niki, and Daniel; 6 great- grandchildren; her cat "Boots;" sister-in-law, Jean Richard of Selmer; special friends Sandra Thompson and Linda Cherris; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Prather, and four brothers: Dudley, Fred, Jack and Billy Richard.
