LaVerne Rudolph Nordness

Laverne Rudolph Nordness departed this life on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 25 days. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin on January 18, 1933, the son of the late Obert and Esther Hellingson Nordness. On October 22, 1960, he was united in marriage to MaryLou DeMar, who survives.

LaVerne had lived in Fargo, North Dakota for 28 years and worked in environmental services at the Sanford Hospital. He had done missionary work in various foreign countries, which he enjoyed. He loved horses and living in the country, and sang in various groups and events. He enjoyed his cars and movies, especially westerns. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Counce, Tennessee.

LaVerne is survived by his wife of 55 years, MaryLou DeMar Nordness of Michie, Tennessee; children, Rachel Bailey of Michie, Tennessee, Mike Nordness and wife, Kathy of Fargo, North Dakota, Ellen Champagne and husband, Randy of Slidell, Louisiana; grandchildren, Tyler Champagne and Heather Mae Nordness; brothers, Russell Nordness of Kissimmee, Florida and Jerome Nordness of Fall River, Wisconsin; sisters, Celoris Hinz of Waunake, Wisconsin and Genny Castagna of Deer Lake, Wisconsin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene and Jerry Nordness.
