Lavinia Stults Brewer of Iron City, TN was born March 8, 1919 in Florence, Alabama, the daughter of the late Tipton Commodore and Nora Pearl Parrish Stults. She was united in marriage to Elvie Clovis Brewer on March 27, 1937 and he preceded her in death on July 20, 1984.
Mrs. Brewer was a homemaker and a member of the Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and departed this life on Monday, January 31, 2011 at her home at the age of 91 Years, 10 Months, 23 Days.
She is survived by sons, Donald Ray Brewer and wife, Elaine, Ronald Fay Brewer and wife, Maye, William David Brewer and wife, Frances, and Randall Lee Brewer and wife, Doris, all of Iron City, TN, Clovis Edwin (Hank) Brewer and wife, Linda of Waynesboro, TN; daughters, Carolyn Phillips and husband, Rusty of Iron City, TN, Dorothy Throgmorton and husband, Johnny of Collinwood, TN, Thelma Holt and husband, Larry of Cloverdale, AL, Elgenia Kelley and husband, Rickey of Waynesboro, TN; 19 Grandchildren, 47 Great-grandchildren, several "special" grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by brothers, Miley, Hanceford, and William Stults and sisters, Lillie Gallian, Walsie Thompson, and Lena Nowlin.
Services will be held on February 2, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Edward Burbank and Ernest Rich officiating. Burial will follow in the Railroad Cemetery at Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Pallbearers will be Marc Brewer, Dan Throgmorton, Matthew Brewer, Russell Holt, John Brewer, Josh Kelley. Honorary pallbearers will be all other grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 9 am until service time at the funeral home.
