Lavon Reynolds

Lavon Reynolds was born on April 25, 1928, in Ramer, the son of the late W. M. Reynolds and Mae Jernigan Reynolds. Raised in a close-knit community, he carried the values of hard work, faith, and devotion to family throughout his life.

Mr. Reynolds was employed with Brown Shoe Company, where he dedicated 38 faithful years of service. His strong work ethic and steady presence earned the respect of those who worked alongside him. Outside of his career, he was a devoted member of Forty Forks Baptist Church, where his faith remained an important and guiding part of his life.

He departed this life on June 14, 2017, in Bethel Springs, at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 20 days.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Vickie Nixon and husband Steve of Bethel Springs, TN; one grandson, Brian Bargas and wife Renee; three great-grandchildren, Will Bargas, Case Bargas, and Raegan Bargas; two sisters, Martha Kudera of Hammond, IN, and Dorothy Peoples of Dyer, IN; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will remember him with love and gratitude.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Verneal Williams Reynolds, who passed away on July 3, 1999; and six brothers, Raymond Reynolds, Cletus Reynolds, Hershel Reynolds, Clifford Reynolds, Thomas Reynolds, and Kenneth Reynolds.

Mr. Reynolds will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering dedication to his family, and the simple, steady way he lived his life. His legacy of faith, commitment, and love will continue through the generations he leaves behind.
